This is the area where you will put in information about who you are, your experience blogging, and what your blog is about. You aren't limited, however, to just putting a biography. You can put whatever you please.

You might provide some sourcing for the insurgent and civilian numbers, as there is considerable variatin between reports.
You might also discriminate between civilians killed by insurgents and AQI, and those killed as a result of collateral damage by Coalition forces.
You might also look at the number of civilians killed by Saddam in the last years of his reign of terror, both directly in his torture chambers and indirectly by his stealing from the Oil-for-Food program, starving Iraqis so he could build palaces.
Finally, it might also be worth noting that the 3000 who died on 9/11 were innocents in the wrong place at the wrong time, as were the Iraqi civilians. The insurgents were (and are) trying to kill Americans and Iraqis (mostly Iraqis) and prevent Iraq from becoming a stable, free nation. The 4,000 US military killed all volunteered for military service.
Sometimes nuance is a good thing.

@skydaddy. wow. to see someone stoically rationalize and justify death like that is pretty sobering.
all life matters man. it doesn't matter, insurgent, american, iraqi. all life is sacred. period. and evan posted the conservative numbers. it's likely to be in excess of the hundreds of thousands.
but then again, as tommy franks has said, "we don't do body counts." it's high time we view all humans as valuable. dubbing the "collateral damage" is pretty dehumanizing. americans are no more valuable than iraqis.

From my time in Iraq, I rarely saw or heard of any civilians dieing because of us, the American troops. In fact, I don't think the number would require two hands to count, but we were ALWAYS hearing about another civilian brought in for medical care, because of something an insurgent did. The harsh reality is that the insurgents don't care who is affected, the vast majority come across the border from Iran, and they are there solely to wreak havoc.

Number killed by Sadaam and his regime...
by chemical weapons
30,000
Genocide of Kurds
100,000
hmmmm
If you play this game, you should count those numbers, too.
The point with this is simply that war is just terrible, period. The question is whether or not we as Christians should be pacifists or not.
