Tonight at First Assembly we had our monthly Very Intentional Parenting workshop.
Tonight's theme was "Spiritual Conversations with your Kids".
I tackled the teenage years.
A couple great ways to have spiritual conversations with teenagers is thru situations and culture.

pretty good movie selection, but I don't know if I would have recommended Hotel Rwanda. Pretty graphic movie i thought.

I would recommend "A Man for All Seasons".

Wow. Even the previews are good for conversation.
I've seen Hotel Rwanda and I agree with Elgin, it's pretty graphic. I decided to allow my teenager to watch it. We had a very long talk afterward about all sorts of issues raised in the movie. It really opened our eyes to see things that happen in our time that we could never have imagined.

Hotel Rwanda is a very good movie, the only one on the list I've seen. Expelled, however, is a very poor choice. Although I've yet to see it, so far screenings are limited, I've heard a lot about the misrepresentation of the filmmakers to the interviewees and the complete distortion of facts. Scientific American has the best critique of it on their podcast: http://tinyurl.com/67ye4w In short, it's bad science, and bad for religion too.
