As people walked into the auditorium on Easter they saw a 6' x 15' blank canvas banner hanging from the ceiling on the stage.
During the conclusion of the message, we started the song "God Help Me" by Rebecca St. James. And 12-15 students stormed the stage armed with paint, brushes and ladders. The students painted different "sins" on the banner during the song.
At the end of the song. The students got out of the way, and another 6' x 15' banner pre-painted with the words "God Help Me", dropped over the banner covered with the sins.

Yesterday was katie's birthday.
Tonight was my first softball game for the year. My first pitch i swung at, was a miss. ouch! Ended the night 2 for 3; with 2 inside the park homers and 5 or 6 RBIs.

Ended 2005 with shame. Was leading in our pot-limit holdem game after an all in raise, and won with the high pair of 10s. see chip stack below
What sucked was the next hand, had pocket 6s. I think at this time only 4 people were left in the game, with 3 in the hand, so i was feeling pretty confident about it. when the flop came, no luck, the turn nothing, but on the river provided me with another 6. so i bet the pot. not realizing, that the 6 had completed katies straight, and i lost the game.
finally finished blue like jazz. incredible.
Taking Care of Business on Vacation

I am still on vacation and have been since dec 19th. here are a couple things I have done.
Finally after probably 40 attempts at the final level, i beat mercenaries on the xbox
Have read 2 books in 3 days. dont think i ever read a full book in school.
(re)understaning prayer - very challenging, very helpful. it made prayer simple.
pocket guide - not inspirational by anymeans (but it never claimed to be), a ton of information. very easy to understand. one thing in the book that i am still shocked at it that when truman was in presidental office, billy graham made a claim that jesus was coming back within 2 years. 50 years later, here we are.
I'm going to be punched for this, but here is katie on christmas rocking out to black sabbath's iron man
Yes, i am still working my way thru blue like jazz. it is not a book that i can sit down and read in 2 days. to much thinking and digesting.
