My 2008 Blogging Goals

I post my blog at 3 different places. Listed below are my current stats for them.

2007 blog.myspace.com/mufan96 blog stats
15 views/day
8 subscribers

2007 xanga.com/mufan96 blog stats
28 views/week
23 subscribers

2007 evancourtney.com stats
10 views/day

2007 twitter.com/mufan96 stats
38 followers

Here are my 8 6 blog goals for 2008
1. 500 twitter followers
2. evancourtney.com up to 100 views/day
3. evancourtney.com 50 feedburners
4. start a parenting blog with travis
5. setup stancourtney.com "the bigfoot blog" with ads, and profit enough to pay for the hosting and domain name
6. find my blogging niche. and create a profitable blog. (comment me some ideas)

If you sweat the numbers but don't do #6 you will have a hard time getting there.

Number watching is a sure fire way IMHO to not be successful in finding your voice and passion.

I guess my question is why are those your goals? In other words what does hitting those goals get you? Basically they serve as an indirect mesurement of how good your content is and how active and respected in the community (how ever that community is defined) that you are targetting.

I'm happy you have rss turned on now.. i tried to add you to my google reader before but couldn't get the rss to work...

can't wait to see you popping up in my feeds this year... one question can you do a parenting blog with out being a parent? :)

I don't know you at all, but you just started following me on Twitter for whatever reason.

Dude, I'm worried about you. Your stated goals are not ends, they are means. By definition, goals should be ends, not means.

High readership for its own sake seems antithetical to the Christian life. "I must increase so that I must increase."

So, no, I won't be helping you to make your goals. Not trying to be a jerk, just letting you know.
